Objectives of RSC

To portray the growth of Science and Technology with a view to popularize Science and develop scientific temper amongst the people of the state.

To develop the understanding, appreciation and engagement of people in science and technology and adoption of S&T knowledge and scientific method in their day to day lives.

To supplement science education in schools and  make it experiential

To address S&T issues, important/ crucial to society and to integrate them in decision making process of policy makers.

To preserve and portray the science and technology heritage of the State.

Uttarakhand lies within Indian Himalayan Region (IHR) which embodied with the great array of natural resources, pilgrimage sites (Char Dham), scenic beauty and adventure tourism. About 2.5 Crore pilgrims and tourists visits this state every year. Dehradun is state capital which has been home to over 300 high schools, including some old Irish Christian Missionary schools since long. It is also known as “City of Schools” and “School Capital of India”. In order to harness the potential of education hub and tourism, RSC has become a place of ‘must visit’ for students, families and tourists. Besides, it will also promotes development of scientific temperament and rational thinking among people of Uttarakhand people through plethora of outreach activities.
